Fort Walton regional office provides the following services:
ADOPTION SERVICES Licensed since 1951 by the state of Florida, Catholic Charities’ Adoption Services provides a positive alternative to birth parents through adoption and believes in adoption as a positive way to assist in building families. COUNSELING Catholic Charities has a commitment to the whole person. This includes Licensed Mental Health Counselors who provide a variety of counseling services to families, couples and individuals. Although we counsel active duty personnel and their families, each of our counselors are certified in the care of Veterans who may have Post Traumatic Stress from their time at war. Please pick up the phone and call the office nearest you to schedule a screening appointment. Our agency offers a few slots for a sliding fee scale for services according to income, family size, and the ability to pay. We can also file claims with some insurance companies providing mental health coverage. FOOD PANTRY The Catholic Charities Food Pantry has been serving Okaloosa and parts of Walton and Santa Rosa Counties for the past ten (10) years. The Food Pantry is sustained both by local donors, the bay Area Food bank and the Florida USDA and is currently distributing approximately 18,000 pounds of food each month and over 250,000 pounds of food annually. Catholic Charities is passionate about being the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need in our community. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE Short-term emergency assistance is available to alleviate a crisis situation for those most in need. Assistance may be in the form of rent mortgage payments, utility payments, medical prescriptions and dental assistance depending on the availability of funding. Catholic Charities of Fort Walton Beach only takes phone inquiries.
DISASTER RELIEF Catholic Charities serves as a lead agency on the Gulf Coast in providing immediate disaster relief to our local areas and surrounding communities. Catholic Charities Disaster Relief operates in collaborative partnership with the interfaith community, non-profit organizations and businesses expediting response plans and recovery efforts. CHRISTMAS WISH PROGRAM Each year we provide Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner to many families. We need those who are willing to help us provide through donations, food drives or direct giving to make a the holidays a time when everyone has something under the tree. Perhaps you will feel the Christ child calling you to be make a difference for a family or a child this Christmas. If so please call “Mrs. Santa Claus” at 850-244-2825. She will be willing to assist you in our Christmas program. VOLUNTEER PROGRAM Catholic Charities’ volunteers help the community by allowing us to enlarge the services and programs offered. Volunteers also increase the success and public awareness of Catholic Charities services and are rewarded with the knowledge that they are serving their community Please join us as a volunteer and enjoy a pleasant and positive work experience with a diverse clientele and help us to touch the body, heart, and ultimately spirit of those we serve.
