A Christmas Letter from the Director of Ft. Walton

Monday January 05, 2009, Diocesan

Dear Members of our Catholic Family:

We have had a wonderful and weary week. To date we have provided Christmas for 150 families for whom we planned. Today we had 22 families that walked in and we were able to provide food and Christmas presents. We are giving Turkey and/or hams to 175 families with all the trimmings for Christmas. This has all been possible because of the generous outpouring of help from churches and individuals.
Yesterday our local NWFL Daily News called because they are doing a story on non-profits. The slant of the story is how non-profits are hurting. I told the reporter that we had been so blessed by all of you that has made this possible. This is truly Mathew 25 come alive. I know Jesus is so happy because we have been able to assist the least of these due to the gifts of time, treasure and talent you have brought to Catholic Charities.
Every volunteer left today with a big smile on their face. The atmosphere has been electric as we have felt the warm presence of the Holy Spirit. We have felt a touch of heaven, as we have His been his hands.
May God Bless all of you as we move to a New Year and we face the many challenges ahead. Of one thing I am certain. As long as we are in His will, He will provide for our needs.
This year as we gather around the manger of our new born Christ, may we remember the poor, suffering, sad, homeless and suffering among us. May we feel His peace knowing that we have Made A Difference for those who God placed before us.
Merry Christmas and God Bless you for your generosity and continued support of the work that we do at Catholic Charities.
