This will give us an idea how to set up for legalization. Nancy, Kim Anh, and My-Dung sat in on a teleconference call with United States Citizenship and Immigration Service- Texas Service Center (TSC). We discussed about petitioning and adjusting status for refugees and asylees and TSC’s policies and procedures on it. The whole Immigration and Refugee Office in Pensacola went to the Bridges Out of Poverty training on June 11, 2007. Nancy had an Immigration 101 at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL on June 10, 2007 at noon. It went well and there were 70 people in attendance. Michelle, Kim Anh, and My-Dung sat in on a webinar on June 6, 2007. This training was hosted by CLINIC and the topic was Preparing Providers for Immigration Legalization. Kim Anh and Michelle went to the Human Trafficking Training in Fort Walton Beach, FL on May 16 and 17, 2007. Nancy, Kim Anh, and My-Dung sat in on a webinar on May 31, 2007. CSPA protects the children from aging out by allowing them to join their families in the USA or adjusting their status with their families while they are in the USA. *To accommodate those who are preparing for legalization, we are considering extending our office hours on Tuesday till 8:00PM. This will probably start in July and it is available to anyone who needs help with preparing for legalization. Plans will be finalized by the end of the week. |
