The entire staff of the Panama City Regional Office was on hand to meet and greet Bishop John Ricard and other members of the Diocesan Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of NWFL. Several individuals who serve on the Panama City Regional Board were in attendance as well. Having the Diocesan Board “rotate” the location for their quarterly meetings provides a wonderful opportunity for both the Board members (Diocesan and Regional) and Regional staff to gain some face-to-face connection, camaraderie and education on the roles of all the individuals who make up our organization that stretches from Pensacola to Tallahassee.
After lunch, many of the Diocesan Board members made the most of their trip to Panama City by taking time to tour the newly renovated St. Barnabas House Transitional Shelter and the Regional Office. Tom and Nancy Weidenhamer made the short trip over to the Thrift Store Warehouse as well, before heading home.
This newly strengthened interaction between the Boards, along with the Panama City staff on Saturday, May 11, was evidence to carrying out the strategies set forth in the Diocesan Board Summative Report from August 26, developing more cohesion across the miles.
