MEETING BASIC NEEDS

Ms. Parker is a single mother of 4 small children, came to our office seeking housing assistance. She moved to Pensacola 3 months prior, only to become a victim of a crime. As a result of this crime, Ms. Parker was forced to move into the Loaves & Fishes Family Shelter for the homeless.

In collaboration with Loaves & Fishes and the Area Housing Commission, Catholic Charities was able to provide hope and assist the client through financial assitance (deposit and a portion of rent). Ms. Parker was also able to make a vital appointment to acquire subsized daycare, ultimately enabling her to maintain employment.

The caseworker also assisted Ms. Parker in registering her children in the new school zone into which she moved, obtaining public transportation bus passes, and acquiring other assistance with utilities, furniture and basic necessities through coordination with other community agencies.
